HEPA filter loads from the top

HEPA filter loads from the top

Lift the top cover of the Novair 1000 and the 16" x 16" x 11.5" HEPA filter sits square in its frame, held by brackets and thumbscrews, with the ring filter and pad pre-filter ahead of it. The HEPA stage is rated 99.97% at 0.3 microns.

Every filter check happens from above with the cabinet standing upright. Change the cheap pre-filters often and the HEPA filter lasts longer between replacements.

The Novair 1000 stands 40" tall on a 20" x 23" footprint. Two 8" wheels and a non-marring skid let one person tip it back and roll it like a hand truck, and the molded handle gives a firm grip.

That small footprint fits closets, hallways and bathrooms where a horizontal machine would block the way, and one person can move it between rooms without help.

Two speeds, 500 or 1000 cfm

A rocker switch runs the thermally protected 1 hp motor at 500 cfm on low or 1000 cfm on high, Novatek's figures with all filters installed. The panel gauge reads 1.0"-1.2" of water column with new filters.

Run high while dust is being made and drop to low once the air settles. When the gauge climbs toward 1.6"-1.8" the filters are loaded and airflow is falling, so change them before pressing on.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

What is the difference between the HEPA and standard filter versions?

HEPA versions carry a 16" x 16" x 11.5" HEPA filter rated 99.97% at 0.3 microns, for abatement and other work that needs a very high level of filtration. The standard version uses a 5 micron general purpose filter for visible, non-hazardous dust.

How much air does the Novair 1000 move?

Novatek rates it at 1000 cfm on high and 500 cfm on low with all filters installed. If you need settings in between, look at the Novair 1000 Variable Speed.

What do the alarm and light options do?

On the alarm and light configurations, an audible alarm sounds and a light comes on when the pressure gauge reaches 1.6"-1.8" of water column, which means the filters are loaded or airflow has dropped.

What circuit does it need?

The Novair 1000 draws 5 amps at 115 V. Novatek asks for a dedicated 10 amp, 110/115 V circuit and a 10 amp rated cord.

Can the Novair 1000 be ducted?

Yes. It has a 10" exhaust collar, and 12" intake doors are available, so it can run with flex or lay-flat duct as an air scrubber or negative air machine.
