In a Novair air scrubber, room air passes a pre-filter pad and a two-ply ring filter before it reaches the HEPA filter, the last and finest of three stages. Both sizes here are 11.5" deep, which gives the pleated media a large area to load across before airflow suffers.
Since the cheaper pre-filters take the bulk of the dust, the HEPA filter is the part you change least often, and the one that decides what the machine returns to the room. Changing pre-filters on time is the simplest way to stretch each HEPA filter's working life.
Alongside the standard filters, Novatek offers a high capacity build of each size: a metal mini-pleat filter (part F4032) at 16" x 16" x 11.5" for the Novair 1000 cabinets and a V-pack (part F4013) at 24" x 24" x 11.5" for the Novair 2000 models.
Each shares the outside dimensions of the standard filter for its size, so a crew can step up a grade on a sensitive job without changing machines. Confirm the size against your Novair model before ordering, since the two sizes are not interchangeable.
The Novair 1000 and 2000 housings take either a HEPA filter or a 5 micron general purpose filter as the final stage. The HEPA filter is tested at 0.3 micron, far finer than the general purpose option, and it is the filter Novatek specifies for abatement work or wherever a very high level of filtration is wanted.
A general purpose filter only cuts down visible dust that is not hazardous. When the dust on a job is hazardous or the space stays occupied, fit the HEPA filter and keep a spare on the truck for the next setup.

The Novair 2000 and Novair 2000 Bio take 24" x 24" HEPA filters. The Novair 1000 and Novair 1000 Variable Speed take 16" x 16" HEPA filters. The Novair 700 uses a thinner 16" x 16" x 3" filter, which is a different part.
Novatek rates its wood frame HEPA filters at 99.97% at 0.3 microns and its metal frame HEPA filters at 99.99% at 0.3 microns. The 16" x 16" metal mini-pleat (part F4032) and the 24" x 24" V-pack (part F4013) are high-capacity designs.
The filter has a gasket on one side only. Insert it gasket side first and press it firmly against the housing's internal rib, then secure the retaining brackets.
Change the cheaper pre-filters first. If the machine's pressure gauge still reads high or airflow stays low with fresh pre-filters, the HEPA filter is loaded and should be replaced. Inspect the new filter's gasket for gaps or cracks before fitting it.
