The Novastrip 378 uses the same keypad controller as the larger Novastrip 1026. A thermocouple on the heat panel feeds the controller, the operator sets temperature and a cycle time of up to 59.99, and a key switch, emergency stop and reset button sit on the same panel.
When a cycle ends an alarm sounds, telling the operator to move to the next section of tile. If nobody presses reset within 20 seconds the unit drops into cool down mode on its own.
The 378 heats two 12" x 12" tiles or three 9" x 9" tiles per cycle across a 2ft² footprint, running from a grounded 115/120 V outlet on a 20 amp circuit. Novatek's routine is to heat one section while scraping up the tiles the machine just left.
That combination makes it the mid-size workhorse for rooms and corridors where no 220 V supply is on hand, and at 45 lbs one person can wheel it between rooms.
The 378 uses infrared radiant heat to soften the adhesive under the tile, so tiles lift off intact rather than being chipped and ground away. Its 14" x 28" heat panel is built from individual ceramic emitter strips, and each strip can be replaced on its own.
Lifting whole tiles keeps dust down and leaves less debris to bag, and a failed emitter means swapping one strip rather than buying a new heat panel. Heat up and removal times vary with tile thickness and adhesive, so try a small area first to set your routine.

Two 12" x 12" tiles or three 9" x 9" tiles per cycle, from a 378 square inch footprint on a 14" x 28" pad.
A grounded 115/120 V, single phase outlet; Novatek's manual calls for a 20 amp circuit. It does not need the 220 V service the Novastrip 1026 requires.
About 15-20 minutes to reach the factory preset temperature. Heat it over bare concrete where possible, or check the tile below so it does not overheat.
Yes. The controller lets you raise or lower the set temperature in steps and set a cycle time up to 59.99; an alarm sounds at the end of each cycle.
Let the cycle end so the controller enters cool down mode. Once the display reads safe to transport and the temperature sticker on the heat panel reads 95 or less, switch off and unplug. The shroud can still be hot, so wear heat resistant gloves.
