The SteamSpa SC-SS0008-3P Maldives is a 3-person indoor far infrared sauna built from hemlock wood with tempered glass panels, made for up to three people who want to sit side by side. Its low EMF carbon far infrared heating panels reach up to 149°F on 120V, 60Hz, and the sauna needs its own dedicated circuit with a 20 A receptacle and breaker, which SteamSpa recommends having checked by a licensed electrician.
What a Maldives Session Feels Like
Heating panels set around the cabin surround you with even, dry warmth from every angle, which SteamSpa calls 360 degree surround heating, so you can sit back, let the tension of the day go and simply relax. You choose the temperature anywhere from 77 to 149°F and a session of up to 90 minutes, then the cabin holds it for you.
SteamSpa's user guide offers a few habits for a comfortable session: a hot shower beforehand helps you start to perspire, a normal session lasts 30 minutes or less, perspiration usually begins within 15 to 25 minutes, and you should drink plenty of water before, during and after. Opening the ceiling vent or the door brings in fresh air whenever you want it.
Controls, Light and Sound
Everything runs from the LED touch control panel. The panel shows the cabin temperature and the countdown timer, switches the display between Fahrenheit and Celsius, and lets you change tracks and volume. The color RGB LED flat lamp lights the cabin in your choice of color, with 17 color settings plus shade and all-bright modes.
A built-in oxygen ionizer with separate ion and ozone buttons freshens the air and clears odors between sessions. The speaker pairs with your phone over Bluetooth, plays MP3 files from a FAT32 USB drive, or tunes FM radio from 85.7 to 108.0 MHz, so music or a podcast fills the cabin while you unwind.
Hemlock Construction and Setup
The walls and bench are natural hemlock, and tempered glass panels at the front hold the heat in, dry fast after each session and keep the cabin bright. The sauna is ETL, FCC and FSC certified. It arrives as prefabricated panels: the bottom board goes down first, the back, side and front boards lock to it with buckles, the bench is screwed in place, and the top board carries the wiring, whose plugs connect in labeled pairs. At least 2 adults are needed to put it together.
Outside, the Maldives measures 60.2" W x 40.5" D x 76.7" H, and the cabin inside is 57.1" W x 37.4" D x 73.23" H. The guide calls for at least 5" between the sauna and any wall. Backed against a wall, plan a spot about 70.2" wide and 45.5" deep to keep that gap on the back and both sides. At 76.7" tall it fits under a standard 8' ceiling, and the power cord is about 10' long with 9.5' exposed, so the dedicated 20 A outlet does not have to sit right beside the cabin.
For anyone who wants regular sauna time at home, the SteamSpa SC-SS0008-3P Maldives 3-person indoor far infrared sauna brings low EMF far infrared heat, a color RGB LED flat lamp, an oxygen ionizer and Bluetooth audio together in a hemlock cabin on its own 120V, 20 A dedicated outlet.
Low EMF Carbon Far Infrared Heat
The system uses low EMF carbon far infrared heating panels that surround you with even, comfortable dry heat up to 149°F on a 120V, 20 A dedicated circuit.
Set the Heat and the Timer
Choose a temperature anywhere from 77 to 149°F and a session of up to 90 minutes from the LED touch control panel, and the display shows the cabin temperature and the time left.
Room for Three
The cabin measures 60.2" W x 40.5" D x 76.7" H outside and 57.1" W x 37.4" D x 73.23" H inside, so it seats 3 adults, and at 76.7" tall it clears a standard 8' ceiling with room to spare.
Oxygen Ionizer With Ion and Ozone Modes
A built-in oxygen ionizer with separate ion and ozone buttons removes odors and freshens the air, so the cabin smells clean after repeated sessions.
Bluetooth, USB and FM Audio
The built-in speaker pairs with your phone over Bluetooth, plays MP3 files from a FAT32 USB drive or tunes FM radio from 85.7 to 108.0 MHz, all from the control panel.
Color Lighting You Choose
The color RGB LED flat lamp sets the mood for the session, with 17 color settings plus shade and all-bright modes selected from the light button.
Hemlock and Tempered Glass
Natural hemlock walls and benches with tempered glass panels hold the heat in and dry fast after use, and the wood is FSC certified as responsibly sourced.
Plugs Into a Dedicated Outlet
The sauna runs on 120V, 60Hz and needs a 20 A receptacle and breaker on a dedicated circuit, with a power cord about 10' long for flexible placement.
Installation
For indoor use only: place the sauna on a dry, level surface with at least 5" of clearance from every wall, close enough that the power cord reaches its outlet easily, and away from water sources and flammable materials. At least 2 adults are needed to assemble it; the panels lock together with buckles and screws, and the guide lists a pencil, hammer, tape measure, electric drill and Phillips screwdriver. The sauna needs a 120V circuit with a 20 A receptacle and breaker, dedicated to the sauna and shared with no other appliance; SteamSpa recommends consulting a licensed electrician and checking local codes before installing it, and electrical changes may be needed to supply 20 A.
Care
Unplug the sauna after each use, open the door so heat and moisture can escape, and wipe sweat from the walls and bench with a towel. Clean the wood inside and out with a wrung-out damp towel (a small vacuum helps on the inner surfaces), and never use gasoline, alcohol or other organic cleaners or abrasive pads on the wood. Wipe the glass with a microfiber cloth. Never pour water on the heating panels, and after 4 hours of continuous use shut the sauna down for half an hour. In very dry climates, wipe the wood now and then with a damp towel; do not store the sauna in a humid place.
