This SteamSpa 21 kW steam shower generator turns a sealed shower enclosure of about 380 to 530 ft³ into a home steam room, and it suits a connected steam shower where you control steam, light and music from a wireless remote or your phone.
The wireless controller works from anywhere in the room: wake it, press power and the generator fills and heats its tank, then sends steam into the shower. You set the room temperature from 50°F to 130°F and the steam time from 1 to 60 minutes, three user presets (U1, U2 and U3) store each person's favorite session, and the same controller switches the color lights and the Bluetooth music. When the room reaches your temperature the steam stops. The SteamSpa app adds control from your phone over a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.

SteamSpa's dual-generator sizing chart lists 21 kW total for a 7' x 10' x 7' cabin and a range of 380 to 530 ft³, and it notes that it is safe, and even recommended, to choose one size step above the chart. Beyond 12 kW, SteamSpa splits the load across two generator units, so this 21 kW package can steam a large multi-person steam room, with each unit on its own dedicated 240V line. If the generator will sit more than 10' to 15' from the steam room, SteamSpa recommends going 1 to 2 kW higher to keep the steam flow up.
Bluetooth Audio and Chroma Lighting
Sound and light are part of the package: built-in stereo speakers play music, podcasts or audiobooks from your phone over Bluetooth, and two chroma bath lights and LED illumination set the mood or simply light the room. Steam enters the shower through gold steamheads in solid steel with built-in aroma reservoirs.
Teflon Elements, Steel Steamheads, Relief Valve and AutoDrain
The heating elements are Teflon coated, which SteamSpa says resists scale and corrosion and outlasts traditional brass elements. The built-in AutoDrain opens once the timer has ended, or the system has been switched off, and stayed off for 2 hours, then empties the tank so minerals do not sit in standing water. The package pairs two generator units, which share the load of the steam room, and a pressure relief valve opens automatically if the tank pressure ever passes 15 psi. The generator has a hanging groove for wall mounting and must be installed level, so its water level sensor reads correctly.
Power, Plumbing and Placement
Plan the power and plumbing before the walls close. Each of the two generator units needs its own dedicated 240V line and auxiliary breaker, and SteamSpa recommends closely matched units with the highest kW unit as the primary, each with its own automatic drain. Installation & Care
Installation
Electrical: each of the two generator units needs its own dedicated 240V line and auxiliary breaker, with a power disconnect within sight and a proper ground; SteamSpa's single-unit table runs from 19A at 4.5 kW to 50A at 12 kW, so size each circuit to the unit it feeds. Plumbing: a 1/2" hot or cold supply at 15 to 20 psi through a pressure reducing valve, the inline filter and a quick connect and release fitting, in copper or brass only (no PEX or PVC), with inlet water no hotter than 160°F. Run 3/4" copper or brass steam pipe with curved elbows, sloped so condensation drains back, with no valves and no dips, insulated where it can be touched, and keep it off any wall material not rated to 240°F. Mount the steamheads about 12" above the floor, outlet down and away from any bench, keep the temperature sensor or control off the steamhead wall, seal every pipe and fitting with 100% silicone caulk, and add an exhaust fan outside the steam room. Leave 12" of clearance on both sides and the top of the generator. SteamSpa requires a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber, and the installation manual is in Resources.
Care
Let the AutoDrain finish before you switch off the breaker, so the tank is empty. Replace the inline filter cartridge at least every 6 months, clean the water supply pipes once a year, and have the generator, steamhead, pipes and fittings checked for leaks every year. About every six months, a technician can remove the cover and clean scale off the water level sensor prong. Wipe the steamheads with soapy water and a soft sponge, never with harsh chemicals or abrasive tools. Children under 16 should not use the steam room, and because SteamSpa generators are not boilers, check with your local inspector before any commercial use.

SteamSpa ships this item from the SW Corp warehouse by UPS, FedEx or USPS, usually within 1 to 2 business days of your order. Shipping is free within the lower 48 states on orders of $101 or more (orders under $101 ship for a flat $15); for Alaska or Hawaii, contact us before you order. You'll get tracking by email as soon as it ships.
Inspect the packaging and the product before you sign. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt, then email photos to support@mycleansupplies.com within 48 hours of delivery so the freight claim can be filed. Damage reported after 48 hours can't be claimed.
Unused SteamSpa products in their original packaging can be returned within 21 days of delivery. Ask us for a return authorization before you ship. You pay the return shipping, which for a freight item means the freight cost, and a 20% restocking fee is deducted along with payment processing fees. Installed, used or damaged products and special-order items can't be returned.
SteamSpa warrants the steam generator against defects in materials and workmanship for its lifetime and repairs or replaces it at its option; the controls, steamhead and other accessories are covered for one year from purchase. Register the generator at steamspa.com/register within 90 days of delivery. The warranty requires installation by a licensed professional, an inline water filter whose cartridge is replaced at least every 6 months, and a quick connect and release fitting for maintenance. It covers residential use only, and surface damage must be reported within 5 days of delivery.
