How Long Tucker Filters Last

Tucker's manuals set the sediment and carbon change at every 5,000 gallons on the Rival, Max Output and Fill N Go, and every 80,000 gallons for the 4060's 30" carbon. Skipping it voids the warranty.

DI life depends on your water, so change it when TDS climbs past 10 ppm. A filter pack per cart keeps the right sizes on hand.

Flush Every New Carbon Filter

Flush Every New Carbon Filter

Each Tucker carbon cartridge is labeled and sized to its housing: 2.5" x 10" for the Rival, Max Output and Fill N Go, and 4" x 21", 30" or 40" for the larger carts.

Run a new 21", 30" or 40" carbon cartridge to waste for 5 minutes before you connect it. The first water out is black, and it should not reach your RO membrane.

The DI Stage Does the Polish

The DI Stage Does the Polish

The DI post-filter is the final stage, taking RO water down toward 0 ppm TDS. Tucker sells it in 4.5" x 10", 4" x 20", 4" x 21", 4" x 30" and 4" x 40" sizes.

Check the output with a TDS meter: spotting on glass starts above 10 ppm, while non-glass surfaces can typically be cleaned with water up to 40 ppm.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

How often should I change the sediment and carbon filters?

The Rival, Max Output and Fill N Go manuals say every 5,000 gallons; the 4060 manual says every 80,000 gallons for its 30" carbon. The manuals say skipping the change voids the warranty.

When do I change the DI filter?

When your TDS reading climbs. Tucker's manuals say spotting on glass begins once TDS rises above 10 ppm, and non-glass surfaces can typically be cleaned with water up to 40 ppm.

My water has chloramines. Which carbon do I need?

Use the 2.5" x 10" Chloramine Killer, a catalytic carbon block. The standard 2.5" x 10" Carbon Block Pre-Filter treats chlorine only; Tucker says its 4" x 21", 30" and 40" carbon cartridges remove chlorine and chloramines.

Do I need to flush a new carbon filter?

Yes. Disconnect the outlet tube from the carbon housing, run water to waste for 5 minutes until the black water clears, then reconnect.

Which filter pack fits my cart?

Rival: Tucker Rival Replacement Filter Pack. Fill N Go: Tucker Fill N Go Replacement Filter Pack. 4060 or H2Pro: Tucker 4060 and H2Pro 30" Replacement Filter Pack. Skid Mount: Tucker Skid Mount 21" Replacement Filter Pack. RO membranes are sold separately.

Are RO membranes included in the filter packs?

No. RO membranes last much longer than the pre-filters and are sold separately as Max-Flow 21", 30" and 40" membranes.
