Tucker supplies only virgin mixed bed DI resin, sold in 1 ft³ and 1/2 ft³ resealable buckets for refilling cartridges and tanks. A fresh DI stage should read 0 ppm TDS, and the reading climbs slowly as the resin is used up.
Spotting on glass starts once output rises above 10 ppm, so a TDS meter tells you when to refill. Keep resin sealed: dried-out resin stops making pure water.
Bulk resin ships in a resealable, reusable bucket with a liner, not a bag that is hard to close. Tucker gives it a shelf life of typically 6 months, depending on storage.
Refill only what you need and reseal the rest. When you fill a cartridge, pack the bed tightly so no air gaps let water slip past the resin.
Tucker's refillable cartridges come empty in 4" x 21", 4" x 30" and 4" x 40" sizes, plus a 20" filter for the Max Output and a 4.5" x 10" for the mobile RO/DI cart and Fill N Go. The 4" x 30" holds 1/5 ft³ of resin.
Filling your own from bulk resin lowers your filter cost. Tucker's funnel makes it easier to pour resin into a cartridge or DI tank.

Check the output with a TDS meter. Tucker's manuals say fresh DI reads 0 ppm, and spotting on glass begins once TDS rises above 10 ppm; non-glass surfaces can typically be cleaned with water up to 40 ppm.
It depends on your incoming water. Tucker estimates about 1,600 gallons per change for 1 ft³ of resin, and about 800 gallons for 1/2 ft³, at 100 ppm incoming water.
Tucker lists the 4" x 21" refillable at 1/10 ft³ and the 4" x 30" at 1/5 ft³. So 1 ft³ of bulk resin fills the 4" x 30" about five times.
Pour the resin in with a funnel and pack the bed tightly, with no air gaps for water to slip past. Tucker's manuals say to seat a DI canister with its black seal on top, nearest the sump head.
Keep it sealed in its bucket where it cannot freeze. Tucker gives the bulk resin a typical 6-month shelf life, and resin that dries out completely stops producing pure water.
No. Water purified by DI resin is non-potable.
