The ANZZI WH-AZ146-M2 is an ENVO Arima high-capacity tankless electric water heater rated 14.6 kW at 240V, a slim wall-mounted unit for a shower, a bathroom or a small apartment. It is built for homeowners who want endless hot water without a storage tank: hot water volume is not limited like in tank-style units, and water heats as long as the tap is running.
Endless Hot Water, Heated as It Flows
An ANZZI tankless electric water heater does not preheat or store water. When a tap or shower opens and the flow passes 0.53 GPM, the WH-AZ146-M2 turns on, heats the water passing through it, and stops when the flow stops. There is no preheating and no standby heat loss, and because water is not sitting in a tank being reheated, it is fresher and cleaner. It also states the design avoids limescale build-up in a tank, for a longer life than tank units.
Set the outlet temperature on the LED display from 86°F to 125°F, switch the readout between Fahrenheit and Celsius, and the heater remembers your last setting for next time. Thirty seconds after the water stops, the screen drops into energy saving mode.
Protection for a Shower Heater
Over-temperature protection begins lowering the output if the water reaches 149°F and holds the setting until it is back to a safe level. ANZZI isolates the flowing water from the electrical system inside the unit, its water/electric separation design. When the heater is paused, the manual warns that the first burst can be hot, so let the flow settle and test with your hand before stepping in.
The WH-AZ146-M2 draws 14600W at 240V, a rated current of 60.83A, on a 70A double-pole breaker with 4 AWG minimum wire. Water connections are 1/2" NPT, using stainless steel flexible hoses or 1/2" copper, never PVC, CPVC or plastic lines. Maximum water pressure is 87 psi.
Slim Enough for a Closet or Cabinet
At 2.76" deep, 14.17" high and 8.66" wide and 10.65 lbs, the heater fits on a closet wall, inside a vanity or under a sink. It mounts vertically with the inlet and outlet pointing down, as close to the shower or faucet as practical. It is ETL certified and listed.
For a bathroom addition, a basement shower, a rental unit or a home moving away from a tank, the ANZZI WH-AZ146-M2 tankless electric water heater delivers hot water on demand from a case under 3" deep.
14.6 kW Heat on Demand
The WH-AZ146-M2 heats water as it flows once demand passes 0.53 GPM, and hot water volume is not limited like in tank-style units.
Electrical Requirements Stated
It draws 14600W at 240V and 60.83A, on a 70A double-pole breaker with 4 AWG minimum wire, the figures your electrician needs to size the circuit.
86°F to 125°F With Memory
Set the temperature on the LED display in Fahrenheit or Celsius, and the heater recalls the last setting at the next use.
Over-Temperature Protection
If the outlet water reaches 149°F, the over-temperature protection automatically cools the output down to a safe level.
Water and Electric Separation
ANZZI isolates the flowing water from the electrical system inside the unit, adding protection on a high-power appliance.
Slim 2.76" Deep Case
At 2.76" x 14.17" x 8.66" and 10.65 lbs, it fits in a closet, vanity or under-sink space where a tank cannot go.
No Standby Heat Loss
With no tank kept hot all day, energy is used only while hot water is flowing, and there is no preheating and no standby heat loss.
1/2" NPT Connections
The inlet and outlet are standard 1/2" NPT connections and take stainless steel flexible hoses or copper pipe.
ETL Certified and Listed
ANZZI lists the heater series as ETL certified and listed, and this model is rated 14.6 kW at 240V, 60 Hz.
Installation
Hardwired to its own dedicated, grounded branch circuit on a 70A double-pole breaker with 4 AWG minimum copper wire, with a disconnect provided by a qualified electrician; ANZZI recommends a licensed and qualified electrician for the install. Mount it vertically with the fittings pointing down, close to the shower or faucet, in a dry area that cannot freeze, with 12" clear above and below and 6" in front and to the sides. Connect 1/2" NPT stainless flexible hoses or copper (no PVC or CPVC), let water flow through before switching on the breaker, and fit a pressure reducing valve above 150 psi inlet pressure. Fit a filter ahead of the inlet and a softener on hard water. Professional installation is highly recommended.
Care
ANZZI's manual: shut off power at the breaker before any maintenance and let hot water drain safely. Periodically clean the inlet strainer (unscrew the inlet nipple, replace the filter, refit with its washer), the faucet aerator and the shower head so scale does not choke the flow. Wipe the case with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap only; never spray it with water or use abrasive or solvent cleaners. If the unit sits unused through winter, drain it completely to prevent freezing.
